FAQ – the carathotel Basel / Weil am Rhein at a glance

The carathotel Basel is located on the German side of the border with Switzerland, in the middle of the border triangle with France. We have compiled all the information you need for your journey under the menu item location.

Does the carathotel Basel have a bar?

At the end of a long day, there is nothing better than ending the evening with a good drink in a dignified atmosphere. Treat yourself to a fine glass of wine, a sparkling cocktail or a good whiskey in our hotel bar. In summer we serve your drinks on our sun terrace, in cooler temperatures you can make yourself comfortable in our cozy armchairs or at the bar.

The rooms are at your disposal from 14.00. If you arrive earlier, we will be happy to store your luggage for you until you can move into your room.

Please vacate your room by 12:00 noon on the day of departure so that we can prepare it in time for the next guests.

Would you like to sleep in late and start your check-out day comfortably? On request and subject to availability, we offer an early check-in (from 10 am) & a late check-out for 10,-€ per hour after 12.00 (noon) and after 4.00 pm at the currently valid daily rate.

The rich caratbreakfast is available daily from 06.00 am to 10.30 am , on Sundays and public holidays even until 11.00 am.

Furthermore, we also offer vegan & vegitarian products. We are happy to offer gluten and lactose free for allergy sufferers. Please let us know your corresponding wishes before your arrival, so that we can prepare ourselves optimally.

Bring your pet to the carathotel Basel / Weil am Rhein! For dogs we charge € 10,00 per night, cats on request. Since each animal has its individual needs, you should bring the food yourself.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel and in our internet center you can use the two computers with internet access for free.

Caution: If you go online with your smartphone, tablet or laptop via the mobile network, please note that the device can also access Swiss providers due to its proximity to Switzerland. This can result in high costs due to roaming charges. Please check the settings of your mobile device or Wifi stick beforehand.

Children up to 6 years stay free of charge in their parents’ bed.

On request we provide baby cribs for babies between 0 and 2 years free of charge. For children over 3 years and also other adults we provide extra beds on request for 30 € per person per night.

Please note: We have limited number of baby cribs and extra beds. Please book them directly with your reservation.

  • Children (up to 6 years in parents’ bed free of charge, from 3 years in extra bed in parents’ room): € 30,- per child and night
  • Upgrade from standard to superior room (incl. one free minibar fill): € 40,- per night
  • late check-out:€ 10,- per hour after 12.00 (noon), after 4.00 pm at the current daily rate

The cab company Sachs offers a paid shuttle service in cooperation with our company. Please contact the company directly Tel. +49 (0) 177 627 26 61. We will be happy to make the reservation for you. Please contact our reception staff for this purpose.

We clean your room daily.

Our hotel has a free sauna, please let us know at the reception about 20 minutes before your planned sauna session, so that we can heat up the sauna for you. Sauna opening hours: daily 5 – 10 p.m., or on request.
