New: Online and mobile Check-In


When flying it's already part of the routine, and now we are joining in: Check in online from home or whereever you are, get all formalities for your stay done in advance and save time when arriving at the hotel!
How it works:
Check-In via Webservice/Browser: About two days before your stay you'll receive an email from us with your check in link that directs you to Hotelbird, our check in service, where you can enter all necessary information or update the address for your invoice. Save your valuable time in Düsseldorf and get everything done in advance. Upon arrival at the hotel, you can proceed to our Check-In Kiosk and get your Key Card within seconds!
Check-In via App: Even easier and more comfortable! Get the Hotelbird-App and access your booking with your reservation number to enter or edit your information! Upon arrival at our hotel you can proceed to our Check-In Kiosk and get your Key Card within seconds. When checking out just press the check out button in the App, leave your Key Card in one of the designated boxes and go your way!
The special advantages of using the App: We will soon be offering the Mobile-Key function, which allows you to open your room door with your smartphone, no need for an extra key card, and go directly to your room when arriving. In addition, the App is used not only by carathotels, but by many other hotels in the DACH area, so it might be useful when staying in another hotel as well.
Check-in on site: Of course, you can always check in on site upon arrival as usual.
Arrival & Parking
Arrival by car
The public parking garage CROWN is in the same building as our hotel. The entrance to the parking garage is on Berliner Allee 52, 40210 Düsseldorf. A reservation is not necessary, the payment (cash or maestro, no creditcard) is made directly in the parking garage when you exit, payment at the reception is not possible. However, please remember to valdidate your parking ticket when checking out to pay 20,00€ per night (instead of 28,00€).
Be sure to park your car on the 3rd floor, from there you can take the elevator directly to the lobby or, if you have already checked in, to your room floor. The door opening to the elevator works either via your room card, your mobile key, or via intercom with the reception.
Weekend-Parking-Special
If you stay with us Friday to Sunday, you will receive a discount in the parking garage CROWN in the same building. Validate your parking ticket at check-out and park for only 20 € per day (instead of 28 €)! Offer only valid for one-time entry on Friday and exit on Sunday.
Arrival by plane
If you arrive by plane at Düsseldorf International Airport, either take a taxi to the hotel (ca. 25 €) or take the S7 train to Düsseldorf central station, where you can continue your journey by tram or subway.
You will find all the relevant information on your journey to the hotel in the section "Location".
The lobby: our work and living room
Our new carathotel Düsseldorf City presents itself as a temporary living room and office to business guests while at the same time serving as an urban and authentic base camp for city travelers exploring our beautiful city.
The ground-floor living room is a spacious, well-lit area you can use to work, read, relax, observe, chat etc. At the bar, we serve coffee specialties, cool refreshments, Düsseldorf’s signature dark beer (“Altbier”), wine, champagne, long drinks and an exquisite choice of liquors.


Check-In & Check-Out
You can check into your room from 02:00 p.m. If you should arrive earlier, we will be happy to store your luggage.
Please check out until 12:00 p.m. on the day of departure. This way, we have enough time to prepare the room for the next guest.
Do you prefer to sleep in and begin the day of your departure more relaxed? Upon request and depending on availability, we offer a late check-out for 10 € per hour after 12:00 p.m., after 4:00 p.m. the current daily rate applies.
Breakfast


Enjoy our rich caratbreakfast buffet from Monday to Saturday from 06:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., on Sundays and holidays from 06:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in our restaurant on the 4th floor.
Guests suffering from allergies can choose from a range of gluten- and lactose-free products. Please inform us about your special needs before arrival, so that we can prepare the perfect solution for you.

Green Rate
When booking via our website, choose our Green Rate and save money with your contribution to environmental protection!
Selecting the green rate at the time of booking means you will not have to clean your room during your stay with us. This saves resources and working hours, and we would like pass this saving directly to you with a discount of € 5 per night.

Our further efforts to protect the environment:
- At our caratbreakfast breakfast buffet, we offer a variety of organic products. Whenever possible, we source our products from regional sources.
- We only use organic bed linen.
- Our laundry bags are made from renewable raw materials (80% sugar cane and 20% cornstarch).
- At our bar we use reusable drinking straws made of glass.
- At the coffee station you will receive returnable cups made from CPLA.
- Reduction of paper consumption, among other efforts, by sending invoices by email, use of LCD screens in public areas and Suitepad tablets in the rooms for all information about your stay.
- Our building was built according to current environmental standards, is optimally insulated and thus reduces energy consumption.
In addition, we are constantly keeping our eyes and ears open for new products and opportunities that we can use to help protect the environment.
Highspeed-Internet / Wi-Fi
You may use our WiFi for free and without additional log in. Connect to the network "carathotel", accept the terms of use by our WiFi partner and enjoy your free access.
On top of that, all rooms, the lobby as well as the conference room provide free high-speed internet access via Ethernet cable (LAN).
In-Room Entertainment
Every single room features a tablet (“SuitePad”) which contains extensive information about your stay. However, it can also be used to play games, read more than 400 newspapers and magazines from all over the world or watch a selection of movies chosen for you. Movies can be streamed directly from the tablet onto your in-room TV.
Via apps and the integrated browser, you may also access your private accounts with entertainment services such as Spotify, Netflix and many more.
Travelling with kids
Kids up to the age of 12 can sleep in their parents’ beds free of charge.
We also make available free baby cots in all room categories. If you are traveling with older kids, you can book one of our triple rooms (upon request and availability).

Smoking
Please bear in mind that the entire hotel is a non-smoking area. Thus, we kindly ask you not to smoke in the entire hotel building or your room – not even with the windows open! A violation of our No Smoking Policy will lead to a cleaning fee of €200.
Pets
We’re happy to welcome your four-legged best friend as well! Feel free to have your dog or cat accompany you. However, if you wish to bring other species of pets, please let us know before arrival. We charge €10 per animal and night. Considering that every pet has its own individual needs, please make sure to bring its favorite pet food from home. Please let us know if you plan on bringing your pet, so we can book a pet friendly room for you!
