The art of winegrowing has been cultivated at the Alexander Laible winery for 13 generations.
Alexander Laible, following in the footsteps of his ancestors, founded his own winery in 2007 and has since written an impressive success story.
The carathotels are now delighted to announce an exciting cooperation with Alexander Laible, in which he will act as the hotel chain’s main partner when it comes to wine.
In future, our guests will be able to find Alexander Laible’s exquisite wines on the wine list of both hotels and enjoy them in a relaxed atmosphere.

A family story full of passion

The name Laible has stood for first-class winegrowing since 1672.
Alexander Laible, who spent his childhood between vats and barrels, knew early on that he also wanted to become a winemaker.
After his brother Andreas took over his parents’ winery, Alexander seized the opportunity to set up his own winery at the entrance to the Durbach Valley in 2007.
His great cousin Eugen Schlindwein left him vineyards in Sinzheim near Baden-Baden, laying the foundation for Alexander’s new adventure.
Today, he cultivates 20 hectares of vineyards with a diverse selection of grape varieties, including Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Scheurebe.
His wines reflect the variety of soil conditions, from sandy loam loess to friable granite.

Manual work and dedication

Alexander Lailble is a winemaker by vocation.
Everything is done lovingly by hand, and he takes care to keep the vines in physiological balance in order to obtain small, aromatic grapes.
He is particularly proud of his old vines, some of which are over 50 years old.
His passion and dedication have earned him numerous awards.
In his first participation in a competition, his winery was named “Riesling Winery of the Year 2019”, and internationally he was awarded “National Producer of the Year”.
He strives to achieve this highest level of quality for his wines year after year.
